|Day 2||Dallas||This morning, enjoy a guided tour of North Texas Horse Country, one of the largest concentrations of horse farms in the United States. Visit a real working HORSE RANCH with a knowledgeable local guide for a true authentic experience. See beautiful vistas, relaxing backroads, and the gorgeous countryside-home to a variety of horse breeds and disciplines, including Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Paints, Arabians, Appaloosas, and Warmbloods?they are all here. In the afternoon, return to Dallas for included city sightseeing that features Pioneer Plaza, commemorating the trails that brought settlers to Dallas and cattle to market; the Historic West End; and Dealey Plaza, where history buffs can learn all about that moment in history at the SIXTH FLOOR MUSEUM, the location from which the alleged killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, fired the lethal shots on November 22, 1963, that killed President John F. Kennedy.|
|Day 3||Fort Worth||This morning, journey to Fort Worth, a Texas city famous for its unmistakable combination of 'cowboys and culture.' Visit the Stockyards National Historic District to enjoy a 'Stockyards Experience' by seeing the SPIRIT OF THE WEST movie. Afterward, meet the drivers/cowboys of the Fort Worth Herd and see a Longhorn cattle drive before visiting the TEXAS COWBOY HALL OF FAME. It's here that the museum pays tribute to more than 70 cowboys and cowgirls who have excelled in the sport of rodeo, and the Western lifestyle. This evening, return to the Stockyards for free time. |Day 5||San Antonio||A short drive from Austin to the most visited city in Texas: San Antonio, home of the Alamo and the historic River Walk. Upon arrival, sightseeing with a local guide includes visits to the SAN FERNANDO CATHEDRAL, the oldest in the U.S., and downtown's authentic Mexican marketplace, El Mercado. Afterward, visit the infamous ALAMO. It was here in 1836 that a small band of Texans defended themselves against the Mexican army, and although the Alamo fell, it remains hallowed ground and symbolizes courage and sacrifice for the cause of liberty. |Day 7||Fredericksburg||Texas Hill Country is home to the LYNDON B. JOHNSON NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK. Discover the story of the 36th president, from his ancestors to his final resting place, at the LBJ Ranch. Visit the TEXAS WHITE HOUSE, including the president's office, living room, dining room, den, and yellow sitting room, restored to their 1963-1968 appearance. Next, on to Fredericksburg, and time on your own to enjoy this historic town. |Day 8||Houston||Houston is a city of firsts-home to the first successful human heart transplant, America's first public television station, and the first word spoken on the Moon. Gain an appreciation for Houston's rich history on a sightseeing tour of America's fourth-largest city that includes the Theatre District, which is second only to New York City. You'll marvel at the world-famous Texas Medical Center, whose 675 acres and 42 nonprofit institutions make it the largest medical complex in the world. In Lake Charles, grab a bite to eat in the Beer Garden or at one of the local restaurants, maybe even choose one with live music. Booking your Vacation with Air
For air departure dates within 331 days, you'll be offered a choice of carriers and flight schedules as well as price points to choose from when selecting your flights. Your schedule will be provided to you at the time of booking (schedules are subject to change by carriers). Globus offers 2 air options: Flex Air and Instant Purchase Air. Flex Air allows flexibility if you want to make changes to your vacation schedule. Instant Purchase Air may offer additional airline options but has more restrictions. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option. Guaranteed air-inclusive prices: air is only available to passengers traveling from the United States and only available when booked in conjunction with a land vacation. An additional $300 per person non-refundable air deposit is required for Flex Air booked in conjunction with any land vacation (i.e. air-inclusive vacation). Air can only be booked by Globus in conjunction with a vacation package. Instant Purchase Air requires air payment in full at time of booking (i.e. air-inclusive vacation) plus non-refundable per person service fee ($30 for North/Central America, $50 for Europe/Middle East and $80 for all other destinations. Once booked, Instant Purchase Air is non-refundable, and non-changeable. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option.
